Detailed Itinerary
Day - 1 - Arrival at Delhi
Our representative will meet you at Delhi Airport/ Railway Station. After a traditional welcome, our representative assist you to the hotel for check-in. You can have breakfast from hotel. After breakfast, a guided tour of Delhi is arranged at 1100 hrs. The tour starts with a sightseeing trip to Gandhi Memorial at Raj Ghat followed by a drive around India Gate and President's House. In the afternoon, a visit to Humayun's Tomb, Lotus Temple (Closed on Monday) and Qutub Minar is scheduled. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.
Day - 2 - Delhi to Varanasi (Train Shivganga Express Dep. at 1825 hrs)
You can spend the the day relaxing. Later in the evening, you will be transferred to the railway station to board the overnight train to Varanasi
Day - 3 - Arrival at Varanasi at 0745 hrs & Excursion to Sarnath (12 km away)
On arrival at Varanasi, our representative will assit you at the railway station and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. Get fresh at the hotel. After breakfast, we leave for Sarnath, where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after Enlightenment. He proclaimed the law of faith at Sarnath. It was at Saranath, Buddha taught the key aspects of Buddhism: the four noble truths, the eightfold path and the middle way philosophy. Buddha encouraged followers to avoid extremes of austerity or pleasure. The remains of monasteries here dating from the third century B.C to the first century A.D indicates a thriving monastic community. Overnight stay at hotel in Varanasi.
Day - 4 - Varanasi to Bodhgaya (Distance: 245 km/ Time required: 8 hrs)
In the early morning, before breakfast at 0500 hrs, you can take a boat ride on the river Ganges, as the Sun appears triumphantly over the horizon. The sound of conches and temple bells relaxes you, as you are in heaven.
After Breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya & check-in to hotel. Buddha attained enlightenment in Bodhgaya at the age of 29. After seating under a tree, Buddha decided not to move until he achievs enlightenment. After three days and nights of profound meditation, buddha achieved enlightment. The Bodhi tree, under which the Buddha achieved enlightenment still exists in Bodhgaya. Later, you can visit the Mahabodhi Temple, Sujata Village and Niranjana River. Overnight stay at Bodhgaya.

Day - 5 - Bodhgaya - Ragjir - Nalanda - Patna (Distance: 205 km/ Time required: 7 hrs)
Early morning, after breakfast, drive to Patna. en route, sightseeing of Rajgir & Nalanda is arranged.
Rajgir is another place in the Ganges Valley, where lord Buddha walked and preached. Nalanda is very important, because Nalanda was blessed with the presence of Buddha and hence the famous monastic university developed there. This university named Nalanda, which means 'insatiable in giving' played a central role in the development of Buddhism in India. Over night stay at hotel in Patna.
Day - 6 - Patna - Vaishali - Kushinagar (Distance: 285 / Time required: 8 hrs)
Early morning, after breakfast, drive to Kushinagar via Vaishali.
The spiritually supreme Vaishali town lies on the left bank of the Gandak river. Lord Buddha visited this place frequently. He preached his last sermon at Kolhua, which is a nearby place. To commemorate the event, in the 3rd century B.C Emperor Ashoka, erected one of the famous Lion Pillar here. After hundred years, the Mahaparinirvana of the Buddha, Vaishali hosted the second great Buddhist council. Two stupas were erected to commemorate this event.
Kushinagar was where Lord Buddha is said to have attained , is one of the most sacred place for the Buddhists, 'Mahaparnirvana' is the freedom from the endless cycle of birth and rebirth.
Overnight stay at hotel in Kushinagar.
Day - 7 - Kushinagar to Lumbini (Distance: 165 km/ Time required: 4 hrs)
After breakfast, visit Nirvana Stupa, Mathakuar Shrine, Nirvana temple and Ramabhar Stupa. After sight seeing, drive to Lumbini.
Lumbini is in Nepal. Lumbini is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage destination. Gautam Buddha was born into a Royal family in 556 B.C at Lumbhini. Many auspicious signs accompanied Gautam Buddha's birth, including the sprouting of Bodhi tree. The great Buddhist ruler, Ashoka visited Lumbhini two centuries later and constructed a Stupa (mound, usually of earth) and Pillar in recognition. This is mostly destroyed now, but these remain important marks of the Buddha's birthplace.
Upon arrival at Lumbini, check-in to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day - 8 - Lumbini to Sravasti (Distance: 205 km/ Time required: 6 hrs)
After breakfast, visit The Ashok Pillar, Lumbini Garden and Pushkarni - The Sacred Pool, Sanctum Sanctorum of the Lord Buddha's birthplace and the Buddhist temple. After the sight seeing, drive to Sravasti.
Sravasti is closely associated with Lord Buddha's life. In Buddhist times (6th century BC-6th century AD), Sravasti was the capital of the Kosala Kingdom. Sravasti was famous, both as a prosperous trading centre and for its religious associations. Buddha is believed to have spent 24 monsoons in the city. It is said that Buddha sat on a Lotus with thousand petals and multiplied his image a million times - a divine vision that silenced his critics.
Upon arrival at Sravasti, check-in to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day - 9 - Sravasti to Lucknow (Distance: 180 km/ Time required: 5 hrs)
After breakfast, visit Shobha Nath Temple, Maheth and Saheth. In the afternoon, leave for Lucknow. Lucknow is the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Evening will be at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day - 10 - Lucknow to Delhi (Train Shatabdi Express Dep. at 1535 - 2210 hrs)
Leave for a guided tour covering Great Imambara, the Residency Alambagh ruins, Secundrabagh and Dilkusha Palace. Evening - Transfer to the railway station to board the train for Delhi. Upon arrival, assistance and transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day - 11 - Delhi - Agra - Delhi (Distance: 220 km/ Time required: 4 hrs/ one way)
After breakfast, leave for Agra, the capital of India under the great Mughals. Agra is well known for the Taj Mahal, One of the seven wonders of the world.
Upon arrival at Agra, you will be taken for a half day sight seeing tour of Agra city. This tour covers the incredible architectural excellence of Taj Mahal (Closed on Friday). Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. After that visit Agra Fort. This massive Fort is 2.5 km long and is considered as the predecessor of the Delhi Red Fort. After sight seeing, we drive back to Delhi for overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day - 12 - Depart Delhi
Our tour concludes. Transfer to the Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.
